For Future Generations

The Oread is environmentally friendly in its construction, utilities and amenities. It is a reinforced concrete structure with natural masonry veneers. To cut down on the use of floor finishing carpet and tile, the architect took advantage of the building’s concrete structure and used attractive stain on floors. Additionally, the gypsum board wall sheathing is paperless, instead faced with fiberglass, which is mold-proof and more durable.

The Oread’s front desk department monitors a building-wide energy management system. This means that, when unoccupied, the individually controlled air conditioners/heater in each guest room automatically changes to setback mode, conserving energy. The building includes energy saving features, such as, low-E coated insulated glass windows; a chiller driven heating, ventilation and air conditioning system; and florescent and LED lighting. When building The Oread we installed low water volume toilets throughout the hotel. The Oread uses only environmentally safe and effective cleaning products.

The Oread is the most unique and complete center for lodging, hospitality, business and social leisure activities in the region all at one extraordinary location.
